This video is shot in a documentary format repeated in a continuous loop. This repetition consistently reminds the notion of the movement of time, its ephemeral quality as against the organic quality of human movement. While it illustrates the lives of people in a busy street in a snapshot, on closer examination it also reveals one of the oldest red light areas of Barcelona. The surface of the street is a vigorous site which circulates around its own self; an opportunity gained for one becoming an opportunity lost for the other. While people make spaces, it is the space in time, a moment that transacts the callousness of humans. My intervention is close to a passive viewer, a voyeur, recording the dynamics of the ever evolving, fleeting street from a protected filter- holding the view finder from the third floor balcony of an insignificant apartment. The choice of the voice over is the sound of an uninterrupted rhythmic pulse, a digital monotonous beep that is a reminder of an organic living life, metaphorically juxtaposed to a difficult street life.
